Selecting the right pasture and forage varieties is crucial for maintaining consistent, high-quality feed throughout the year. At Capstone Seeds, we combine local expertise with top-performing genetics to deliver seed that thrives in diverse conditions. Whether you’re planning winter grazing, late-season feed, or a blend for year-round resilience, our carefully selected varieties provide the reliability, nutrition, and performance your farm needs.

AUTUMN GRAZER

More winter feed, longer grazing

Autumn Grazer is a premium blend combining the quick winter feed growth of triticale with the longevity and resilience of stooling rye. This blend ensures excellent quality feed for dryland or limited irrigation systems, providing flexibility in planting from February in cooler regions and March in warmer areas.

COCKSFOOT – DANA

Palatable and drought tolerant

DANA is a late-maturing, leafy cocksfoot producing a dense sward without traditional bunching. With strong rust resistance, good winter activity, and excellent drought tolerance, it performs well in both grazing systems and conserved forage applications.

TRITICALE – TUCKERBOX

High tillering ability

Tuckerbox is a late-medium season triticale offering strong tillering, excellent rust resistance, and versatility for forage, grazing, or silage. Ideal as a follow-up crop after maize silage, it provides rapid winter feed with the option of harvesting both green material and grain.

CLOVER – HAIFA

Winter active

Haifa is a highly productive, winter-active white clover well suited to rotational grazing systems in higher rainfall areas. With correct grazing management and shallow sowing, Haifa enhances pasture quality and productivity throughout the cooler months.

PLANTAIN - TONIC

TONIC® is a highly productive perennial plantain (Plantago lanceolata) developed for sheep and cattle pastures. It is well adapted to a wide range of soil types and climates due to its deep fibrous root system combined with a strong taproot, providing excellent drought tolerance and persistence. TONIC® is primarily active during autumn, winter, and early spring, while continuing to produce forage during summer, making it a reliable 2–3 year pasture option.

Investing in the right pasture and forage varieties today can dramatically improve feed availability, animal performance, and overall farm productivity. Capstone Seeds’ locally adapted, high-quality varieties ensure you get consistent growth, nutrition, and reliability - season after season. Explore these solutions and plan your pastures with confidence.
